8 days, 7 nights, 4 days riding, 1 day in Santa Fe, 1 day at the Balloon Fiesta

Every October people from all over the world come to New Mexico for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, one of the most photographed events in the world. With the Sandia Mountains looming above the valley and the river winding below, the hot air balloons have a perfect backdrop to fill the sky. We are the only outfitter that takes our clients riding with these picturesque globes floating overhead. We often catch them making a splash and dash in the river! Each day will be planned for optimum balloon viewing and mild terrain so that you can take as many pictures as possible. You will get up close and personal with these inflated airships when we spend the morning helping our friends at the fiesta blowing up and launching their balloon. The afternoon will be spent amongst the wide variety of vendors with local foods and arts and crafts. Don't miss unique way to experience this amazing event!

Where ever you find the foot print of the human being in the sand, you find the foot prints of the horse walking next to him

Horses have carried us through history and have been our partners along the way. It's only natural that they accompany us in our journey of self discovery. Equi-Yoga borrows asanas (poses) and breathing techniques from yoga and translates them into the saddle. You begin this program on the mat creating a foundation of breath and learning the asanas. As you move to the saddle our horses stand patiently, often breathing and stretching with you, as you begin to find a flow. When you are ready to advance, the horse walks out on a lounge line as you match your rhythm with the animal. This unique technique highlights many trouble areas, such as the neck, shoulders, arms, seat, and legs. It brings awareness to your balance and strength, essentially because your mat is moving to its own pace. By adding the equine element to yoga the equestrian will learn to adjust to new situations with breath and supplenss, reevaluate the body cues to keep clear communication, and build a deeper connection to your horse. This discovery can be utilized to enhance your riding and your yoga practice. "It helps you explore your body from the inside out, " explains Marty Whittle, founder of Equi-Yoga.

Equi-Yoga Clinic

$3,000 8 days, 7 nights, 3 Equi-Yoga Sessions, 3 Days Trail Riding

It is during this week that we can  delve further into the benefits of learning and implementing Equi-Yoga techniques into your own riding lifestyle. We believe that a foundation for the practice is best built with multiple mat sessions that reinforce poses and help relax sore muscles, multi standing flows, walking sequences, and the introduction into trotting positions. All of these sessions are designed to bring awareness to any trouble spots in your riding,  as well as your own yoga practice, and giving you the tools to improve. We also apply these techniques while trail riding, such as warming up with your horse and after lunch stretches.
