Brewery day Ride

We have paired trail riding and craft beer in a new partnership with our local east mountain brewery, The Ale Republic. The fun starts with a 2 1/2 hour ride through the pine ridges and flower lined meadows of Gutierrez Canyon. The 300-acre Gutierrez Canyon property was purchased by the City of Albuquerque in 1963, making it one of the first pieces of land the City set aside for the preservation of nature. Elevations here range from 6,100' to 7,600'. Steep-sided, rocky canyons containing usually dry stream beds characterize this property. Pinon-juniper forests dominate this site, but there are also scenic stands of ponderosa pine. Visitors can enjoy spectacular views of the East Mountains from various vantage points including the beer garden of Ale Republic. We end our ride at the brewery for lunch, a brew, and a tour of the brewing process. Don’t drink beer? Don’t worry! They also offer local cider and wine.

What makes us unique?

each day is a different adventure

Unlike many outfitters who ride in the same area, we take advantage of New Mexico's diverse landscapes and terrain by trailering out to a new trail each day. We load horses, tack, picnic, and clients and drive 20-45 minutes to our riding destination. Some days we will be galloping through the sandy arroyos of a painted desert, the next day we will scale alpine forests, and we love to splash through the waters of the Rio Grande river. We do not camp out in these places, but return back to the ranch where a hot shower, a hearty meal, and a soft bed awaits.

multi-day rides are all inclusive

  • Transportation to and from Albuquerque Airport

  • Lodging in our Guest House

  • All meals, snacks and water on trail

October 6-13 2019

8 days, 7 nights, 4 days riding, 1 day in Santa Fe, 1 day at the Balloon Fiesta

Every October people from all over the world come to New Mexico for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, one of the most photographed events in the world. With the Sandia Mountains looming above the valley and the river winding below, the hot air balloons have a perfect backdrop to fill the sky. We are the only outfitter that takes our clients riding with these picturesque globes floating overhead. We often catch them making a splash and dash in the river! Each day will be planned for optimum balloon viewing and mild terrain so that you can take as many pictures as possible. You will get up close and personal with these inflated airships when we spend the morning helping our friends at the fiesta blowing up and launching their balloon. The afternoon will be spent amongst the wide variety of vendors with local foods and arts and crafts. Don't miss unique way to experience this amazing event!

Where ever you find the foot print of the human being in the sand, you find the foot prints of the horse walking next to him

Horses have carried us through history and have been our partners along the way. It's only natural that they accompany us in our journey of self discovery. Equi-Yoga borrows asanas (poses) and breathing techniques from yoga and translates them into the saddle. You begin this program on the mat creating a foundation of breath and learning the asanas. As you move to the saddle our horses stand patiently, often breathing and stretching with you, as you begin to find a flow. When you are ready to advance, the horse walks out on a lounge line as you match your rhythm with the animal. This unique technique highlights many trouble areas, such as the neck, shoulders, arms, seat, and legs. It brings awareness to your balance and strength, essentially because your mat is moving to its own pace. By adding the equine element to yoga the equestrian will learn to adjust to new situations with breath and supplenss, reevaluate the body cues to keep clear communication, and build a deeper connection to your horse. This discovery can be utilized to enhance your riding and your yoga practice. "It helps you explore your body from the inside out, " explains Marty Whittle, founder of Equi-Yoga.
