Hello and welcome to your riding adventure with

Enchantment Equitreks!

We know that planning a vacation can be stressful, so hand over the reins and let us show you the vibrant landscapes, culture, and cuisine of New Mexico. Each day will be filled with a new experience as we traverse the Sandia Mountains, meander along the bosque, and gallop through desert arroyos.

We are a family owned and woman operated business specializing in small group tours. Our 135 acre ranch is located on a pine tipped ridge at the southernmost point of the Rocky Mountains. Just 40 minutes east of Albuquerque and 45 minutes south of Santa Fe, we have all the conveniences of cities with the open spaces of the countryside. Our high desert climate offers cool mornings, hot afternoons, and occasional rain showers in the evening. We are blessed to have three very different ecosystems, mountain, desert, and river—all under one endless blue sky. New Mexico is rich with Hispanic, Native American, and Cowboy history.

There are many activities to enjoy when we are not riding, such as hiking, mountain biking, yoga, swimming, sunbathing, and even napping in a shady hammock. Our ranch is a wonderful blend of adventure and relaxation.
We welcome you into our home for family style meals made with local ingredients.

Breakfast is set in an Europen style contential breakfast.  During long rides we will picnic on soups, salads or sandwiches and for shorter rides lunches will be leisurely served at the main house. All of our dinners highlight the unique New Mexican fare spiced with red and green chili. We are able to accommodate many dietary needs and restrictions.

We hope your stay with us will be full of new memories, good food, and many amazing stories!

Sincerely,
Mel Graham & Justyn Vogel

Your Adventure

Take a look over the example rides and suggested packing list and let us know if you have any questions. For more information and frequently asked questions please visit We are excited to meet you and start our journey in the Land of Enchantment.

Requirements:
     ● Helmet (if you don't have one of your own, one will be provided for you)
     ● Boots with a small heel. We highly suggest riding or hiking boots. You will need to be able to walk in varried terrain.
     ● Long pants, breeches, or riding jeans.

Packing Suggestions: Plan to dress in layers, mornings are cool and afternoons are warm. Light casual clothes are suggested for evening and outings. Along with toiletries and medications please bring plenty of sun protection such as sun block, hats, sunglasses, light long sleeve shirt, and lip balm. Our high altitude makes sunburns very likely. The Air Bnb you will be booked at has a pool and hot tub so don’t forget your bathing suit.

For Riding: Half chaps and riding gloves are suggested because we encounter cactus and low branches. A light jacket or rain poncho. If you don't have any of this gear, we can provide it for you.

Extras: Electronic chargers and batteries, camera, extra cash for souvenirs and tips. If you are traveling from outside of the United States do not forget your passport and any paperwork.

We provide: Towels, hair dryer, basic toiletries, water and snacks on trail, three meals a day, free wifi, laundry, and transportation to and from the Albuquerque airport (ABQ).

What to expect:

We want you to have a full connection and experience with your horse. Each day you will be grooming and tacking before and after the ride. We believe this helps build a bond between horse and rider. If you’re unfamiliar with our type of tack or a little rusty, a wrangler will be available to assist you.

We have Western and Australian stock saddles available. Both are comfortable trail saddles and are well suited for the varied terrain. The Australian stock has the close contact of the English and the support of a Western. We provide saddle bags that can accommodate your water bottles, snacks, lunch, camera, phone, and sunscreen.

Example Rides:

Long rides are typically 4-5 hours. Usually we ride two hours out, picnic for about an hour, and ride two hours back. During the hotter months of late July to late August these rides will be early departures and our picnic will be a breakfast. Balloon Fiesta will have 2-3 early departure from the ranch, about 5-6am, so that we can catch the balloons that launch at 7am. We will try and incooperate any scheduled events into the tourism day.

Shorter rides will be 2-3 hours. An evening ride will typically be a short ride. These days can be filled with a visit to a local horse rescue, hiking, biking, yoga, swimming or relaxing in a hammock. We will alternate long and short rides during your stay. We offer a wide variety of terrain and trails because we travel out to each destination. Drive time is anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours from the ranch. Not all trails will be available due to the weather and time of year. We will try and incorperate any scheduled events into the tourism day.

Welcome Ride

On the arrival day we will meet at the barn about 2pm, depending on weather, for a short safety and expectations meeting. Every barn does things a little differently and we find going over a few basics like catching horses, grooming, and tacking helps our riders and horses get to know each other better. We then head to the arena where we will warm up with walk-trot transitions, turning, stopping and backing. This is not a lesson, but will give you a feel for how we’ve trained our horses to cue to basic commands and aids. Onve everyone feels comfortable we will go for a short 1 hr trail ride from the ranch, giving you the oportunity to further connect with your trail partner. If your tack doesn't feel right, needs to be adjusted, or if you and your horse don’t jive please let us know! We can easily change things on this first day.

If this is your first time booking with us this first day meeting and ride is mandatory.
